The problem with modern thinking is that people entertain everything that is written as being equal. A foolish person will read things that contradict what they know to be true and then allow evil things into their life. Since eternity and a real, powerful relationship with the only God is at stake, it makes sense to focus on the things that build us, encourage us and strengthen us rather than allowing Satan any opportunity to lead us astray. Jesus (through the Apostle Paul) gave us instruction on what we should spend our time on (Phil 4:8,9). The books that I will list below have brought me encouragement, growth, power, strength, comfort and knowledge of the Savior. I hope you find them as powerful as I have.
